Law of Gender

I was recently asked to explain the Law of Gender and it caused me to really think about it and and the related Law of Gestation. Like all the Universal Laws, it is fixed and by learning how it works we can work with rather than against it.

Everything in the universe is masculine or feminine and when they combine we have creation. The basis of all life and matter, is energy. Masculine energy is the creator and feminine energy does the creating. The obvious examples are humans, when the male and female unite we have creation of a new baby. Plants are the same, the seed attracts the energy it needs to create a flower, or a tree. It is through the Law of Gender that we see that things aren’t really created they are just male and female energies transforming into something new.

In the ancient Chinese culture the Law of Gender is seen in Yin and Yang. The dark and the light, the feminine and the masculine.

When we understand that we are a combination of both male and female energy we can begin to understand ourselves more and then use this knowledge to advance ourselves. Our cultures have taught us how to act and feel based on if we were born a boy or a girl. Males are taught strength, confidence, leadership, pride, honor, power and females are taught empathy, softness, openness, creativity, compassion, feeling and so on. Over many generations male energy has become stronger and female energy more suppressed. In more recent times however the value of female energy is being recognised and encouraged.

For ourselves, if we can learn to embrace both energies that are within us and allow them to flourish together we raise our self awareness and develop qualities like gentleness, patience, wisdom, self control and empathy.

The Law of Gender leads to the Law of Gestation. This law decrees that all seeds, whether animal, vegetable or spiritual, will come to fruition in their own time. Everything has it’s own time for gestation. A human baby takes about 40 weeks to grow, sunflowers about 10 to 12 weeks and an olive tree about 3 years. Notice time frames are about as various factors can effect the time frame.

So how does all of this affect us and our results. As we have covered, the process of changing our results requires the new idea to be nurtured and fed and looked after, like the seed and the creation process. New ideas, thoughts, become beliefs and beliefs become actions and actions give us results. It is the combining and concentrating of our energies that give us results. We need to remember though, all things, including ideas, need to gestate. We need to give our ideas due time. Don’t be impatient, all things will come in their own time.

If you need another example, think of the chinese bamboo tree. The seeds are planted and then have to be looked after for 5 years before they break through the ground and we see shoots. Once it has broken through however it grows 90 feet (about 30 metres) in 5 weeks.

Remember time frames are about and good conditions can speed up the process, it’s the same for ideas. They will take the time needed to come into fruition but by concentrating on the idea we give it more energy and we can give the process a bit of a nudge!
